Brushstrokes, mark-making, and layers of paint are meticulously oriented

in a horizontal fashion. The striations of color, soft slates,

and rich colors of mud begin to resemble the bands that reside with the stones of the Earth. Each line represents the passing of time.

Each line, each hard and intentional stop of the brush reminiscent of the slow and gradual accumulation of sediment.
