"Rough" painting

While we have a deep fascination with the pristine and the smooth, there is something endlessly alluring about a surface that is rough. Here, the fluid strokes of paint give way to a porous exterior. The golden shimmers begin to fade in favor of cavernous openings that reveal the blackness within. Deteriorating before our eyes, the entirety of the piece becomes consumed. Nonetheless, each imperfection shows the splendor that can exist in both the light and the dark.
Choć fascynuje nas nieskazitelne i gładkie wykończenie, jest coś nieskończenie pociągającego w szorstkiej powierzchni. Tutaj płynne pociągnięcia farby ustępują miejsca porowatej powierzchni zewnętrznej. Złote połyski zaczynają blaknąć na rzecz przepastnych otworów, które odsłaniają wewnętrzną czerń. Pogarszający się na naszych oczach, całość ulega zniszczeniu. Niemniej jednak każda niedoskonałość ukazuje blask, który może istnieć zarówno w świetle, jak i w ciemności.
